Light Up Leominster – Leominster Roars by Leominster Cultural Consortium
Light Up Leominster was filmed over two evenings in November 2023 as part of the Leominster Roars initiative managed by Light Up Leominster. It lasted about 3 hours each evening with a series of light projections, lights and a large parade.
The projections and lights were situated around the town centre square, streets and park and Priory Church. In all there were about 12 projections which changed throughout the event. The parades were different each evening with oversize puppets. lantern parades, bands, choirs and local people following. Hundreds of people were involved.
Light Up Leominster is made up of representatives from the local community who are actively engaged in delivering arts and culture in the town, including local artists, creators, crafters, performers, event organisers and community groups.
In developing a collaborative and inclusive cultural programme, the Consortium is committed to supporting the people, places and spaces of Leominster’s past and present to unite their voices in a mighty roar. We want to create a thriving programme to stir up local creativity, pride, passion and community spirit for the future.
